Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton Concerning the Schenectady Layoffs

The loss of 400 jobs in Schenectady is staggering news for the community and, more importantly, the workers and their families. This is further evidence that it is time for a new industrial policy in America. In community after community, New Yorkers have become painfully aware of the failure of current policy. It is time to establish new policy that will help stop the hemorrhaging of manufacturing jobs that we are experiencing in our state and across the country.
