Solis Names New Field Representative/Asian Pacific Islander Liaison

Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (CA-32) announced today that Cindy I. Chen has joined her office as the Field Representative/Asian Pacific Islander Liaison for the 32nd Congressional District.

"Cindy brings a variety of experience and skills serving the Asian Pacific Islander community in different capacities. I am confident Ms. Chen will be a tremendous asset to my office, and more importantly, the constituents of the 32nd Congressional District of California," said Congresswoman Solis.

As Field Representative/Asian Pacific Islander Liaison, Chen, 28, will serve as an advocate for Congresswoman Solis' constituents with federal agencies, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security Administration (SSA), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other federal agencies.

She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has worked with various Asian-American organizations.

Chen received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University, College of Law. She formerly worked as a legal intern at the Public Counsel Law Center, a pro bono law office in Los Angeles, working for Immigrants' Rights Project. She has also interned at the Orange County Public Defender's Office.
