Grams Proposes Schedule of 8 Debates with Oberstar
Senator Grams says voters deserve to hear all the issues
Senator Rod Grams, 8th District Congressional Candidate, is proposing a full schedule of eight debates for the last weeks of the campaign. This he communicated in a letter sent Tuesday, September 12 to Jim Oberstar's office.
"There are many issues the voters need to hear debated before they go to the polls in November," said Grams. "There is no better way for voters to be introduced to their representatives than by seeing them on TV or listening to them on the radio."
"This district is so large and the issues so diverse that too limited a schedule is unfair to the voters. We have heard from Chambers, Legions, the League of Women voters, Rotaries and other organizations all across the district who want to host a debate," said Grams.
"There has also been interest expressed from local television stations to air two or three debates right here in Duluth," said Grams. "Duluthian's deserve to view a full-fledged debate between the candidates and know where each candidate stands to make the best choice on November 7th."
Thus far, Grams' proposal letter has received no response from Oberstar.
