Klobuchar Calls For Change Of Course In Iraq, Kennedy Continues To Support Failed Policy
Sunday, 15 October 2006
During today's Meet the Press debate, Congressman Kennedy continued to show his unwillingness to ask tough questions on the administration's failed policies on issues that matter to Minnesotans. Unlike Amy Klobuchar, who is calling for an increase in government oversight and a change in the way Washington has handled the war in Iraq, Congressmen Kennedy has failed yet again to offer a clear vision for change. Klobuchar campaign manager Ben Goldfarb released the following the statement:
"Today's debate illustrated a clear choice for Minnesota voters - more of the same failed policies from Congressman Kennedy or sending someone to Washington who isn't afraid to ask the tough questions and hold this administration accountable. Enough is enough, its time for real change in Washington."
During this morning's appearance on Meet the Press, Klobuchar said:
"The way to get this right for our troops is to give them the equipment they deserve but also to get this policy right and to admit that we need to change course . . . We cannot, as Congressman Kennedy and the President are talking about, just stay the course indefinitely."
