A new Survey USA poll, which was commissioned by Little Rock TV station KTHV, and released Sept. 21, shows what the station calls "a highly competitive race" for Arkansas' second congressional district. The poll shows Republican challenger Andy Mayberry closing the gap on incumbent Vic Snyder, a Democrat. Among those polled, 56% favor Snyder and 42% say they'll vote for Mayberry. The margin of error is 4.6%.Two months ago in a similar Survey USA poll, the margin was much wider with Snyder at 58% and Mayberry at 38%.
"There is a growing number of people who believe it is time for a change," Mayberry said. "We're excited to see this race continuing to get closer. We have momentum on our side and intend to keep picking up steam through Election Day," Mayberry said.
