Curt Weldon, speaking before the First Lady, thanked leaders from the Sikh community who attended the breakfast to support him, as well as local library workers.

"I'm amazed at the labor support this year," the 20-year incumbent said. The congressman noted that he's not a partisan, "That's never been my style. My style is to bring people together for the common good... I've been able to work with my Democrat colleagues to achieve what's best for America." He added that he was honored to have former Congressman Ron Klink, who ran for U.S. Senate against Rick Santorum in 2000, as the Chairman of the Democrats for Weldon committee.

The congressman expressed his dismay that national Democrat leaders would attempt to "steal" his seat away in spite of local labor and Democrat support.

"We're going to send a message to D.C. that good government that works with both sides of the aisle is what we need more of," the congressman said.
