Healthcare
The vitality of a community is directly related to the health of its citizens. Health insurance, prescription drug coverage, and preventative care are issues that affect our national security and demand attention now. Tim Walz believes that reforming and strengthening the health care programs designed to improve the lives of seniors, veterans and children is the first step in taking on the health care crisis in our country.
Doctors, healthcare workers, and those in the pharmaceutical industry have a right to make a decent living, but the citizens of southern Minnesota also have a right to adequate and affordable health care. There must be a balance between the two.
Tim Walz is determined to help lower the cost of prescription drugs in America. He believes that having to wait up to a month for drugs from Canada is an inadequate alternative to the skyrocketing drug costs. The American government has a responsibility to negotiate lower drug costs in much the same way other governments have negotiated for their citizens. American citizens shouldn't have to rely on the Canadian government to keep their drug prices low.
