Honoring Our Veterans
My father served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific, and I know first-hand the pride he took in his military service.
Veterans in Eastern Washington have been receiving mixed messages from the government far too long. Which facilities will remain open? For how long? For what hours? What about mental health services? Emergency services? Long-term care needs?
We know that the number of veterans seeking medical and psychiatric services is only going to increase. If we can find the funding to send our sons and daughters to war, we need to find the funding to care for them when they return.
* I will work to restore and restaff the intensive care and emergency units at the VA Hospital in Walla Walla.
* I will work to appoint an independent administrator to assure full functionality of the VA Hospital in Walla Walla.
* I will fight to maintain and enhance services for all veterans in Eastern Washington.
