Gutknecht endorsed by Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association

First District Congressman Gil Gutknecht today announced he has been endorsed by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA). The MPPOA is the largest police association in the State of Minnesota.

An endorsement letter written by MPPOA executive director William A. Gillespie noted the organization's support of Gutknecht due to his support of
"restoring cuts in funding to local law enforcement such as Byrne Grant Funding, local law enforcement grand block grant funding, the COPS program, congressional support of the Minnesota CriMNet project, and medical savings accounts for retired public safety officers."

"I want to thank the men and women in blue who patrol our streets and keep our communities safe," said Congressman Gutknecht. "I am grateful for the support of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and look forward to working with them on law enforcement initiatives in the future."
