On The Issues - Agriculture
The American farmer knows how to be productive and can easily compete in the open market but unfortunately too often faces trade barriers, restrictive compacts and regulatory burdens.
While growing up I worked on my uncle's farm before being married on the dairy and beef farm of my husband's parents - the same farm where Marcus and I spent the first year of our marriage. We, along with our children, still help out and hope the next generation will continue the tradition. I know this hope is shared by other farmers who worry that the consequences of estate taxes and burdensome regulations may hamper the ability of passing their farm to succeeding generations. I'm committed to supporting our farmers and expanding, not restricting, opportunities for future generations.
