On The Issues - Veterans and Military Retirees
We owe a debt of honor and respect to all our veterans and military retirees who served so nobly to defend our land and protect our freedoms. This debt includes the obligation to fulfill all our promises to them as we never forget their sacrifice and service for us.
As a Minnesota State Senator it was a great honor to help protect the Disabled Veterans Rest Camp on Big Marine Lake. The legislation I sponsored in the Senate ensures the camp, first established in 1926, will remain open to veterans as a place of retreat to enjoy the outdoors without concerns of facing restricted access or losing the land through eminent domain.
If elected to Congress I will continue to work at protecting promised benefits earned by our veterans and military retirees, such as improvements to the military healthcare system, the GI Bill, and the veterans' claims processing system.
