Cleaning the Bay

Cleaning the Bay

The Chesapeake Bay is one of the most valuable resources in the state of Maryland. Not only does it support an abundance of wildlife, the bay also is an intergral part of Maryland's economy, as a source of both food and jobs. In short, the Chesapeake Bay is the lifeblood of the people of the state of Maryland and it is our duty to protect it.

In 1999 the EPA declared that the Chesapeake was not reaching quality water standards and the bay is now on it's list of impaired waters. We cannot continue to reap the benefits of this fine waterway unless we protect it. Over the past fourteen years the quality of the Bay has declined. Our current representative has done nothing to protect the Chesapeake bay and surrounding waterways. This is a problem that can be solved by examining and utilizing innovative new technologies. As your congressman I will do everything I can to revitalize the bay and bring this important economic and ecological resource to it's full potential.
