Tony Trupiano Receives Endorsement Of SecureUS PAC

- Will Participate in High-Level Security Conference-

Dearborn Heights , MI- Tony Trupiano, Democratic candidate for Congress in Michigan's 11 th Congressional District, this week received the endorsement of SecureUS, a political action committee backing Democratic candidates they consider to have a strong national security message.

"This is a vote of confidence in my campaign and vote for strength for the people of Michigan's 11 th District," Tony Trupiano said. "I am honored to accept the SecureUS endorsement and look forward to their support."

"Thad McCotter can pay all the lip service he wants to national security and defense of our Homeland, but the fact remains he steadfastly supports the failed policies of President Bush which have made us no safer, no stronger and no more secure as a nation." Trupiano continued.

SecureUS was founded by U.S. Representative Jane Harman (D-CA), the ranking Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a member of the Homeland Security Committee, and several other leading Democrats with strong national security credentials, including former Secretary of Defense William Perry and former U.S. Senators Gary Hart and Bob Graham.

The mission of SecureUS is to "invigorate policy development and strengthen the voice of Democrats on critical national security issues facing the United States of America." They plan to work with Democratic candidates across the country to ensure voters are getting the "ground truth" on issues of national security. SecureUS will provide research, policy expertise and financial assistance to Democrats running for federal office.

As a part of their endorsement, SecureUS has invited Trupiano and other select Democratic candidates they are supporting to a high-level security issues conference and training in Washington, DC in early April.

"We have looked at Congressional races all over the country, and I write today to invite you to a high-level security issues training for a select group of targeted candidates, to be held in Washington on April 2-3, 2006," the letter of endorsement read.
