WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell released the following statement today in support of S. 3711, The Gulf of Mexico Energy Bill.

"By passing this bipartisan legislation, America moves one step closer to reducing its dependency on foreign sources of oil. Expanding access to the Outer Continental Shelf in the Gulf of Mexico will help increase our domestic energy supply and will strengthen our national and economic security."

Senator McConnell is an original co-sponsor of S. 3711.
