My experience as a small business owner gives me a first-hand insight into the tough issues facing job growth in our district. In Congress, I will support legislation that provides tax cuts and other financial incentives to draw new businesses to our area, creating new and better jobs for people from Cherokee to Dillon. Every county has to deal with the issue of growth in ways that best meet their specific needs. For many counties around the district, we must focus on building a better-educated workforce to attract employers. In other areas, improved transportation systems and enhanced infrastructure are the priority.
The people of our district should be able to find a great job without leaving their hometown and moving to new areas. Through economic growth, we can work to create more job opportunities right here in our back yard. Encouraging growth in our district is one of my top priorities because there is a direct relationship between a growing economy and the increase of prosperity. Together we can obtain a better quality of life for our citizens.
