North Korea Missile Launches

July 5th, 2006

U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley issued the comment below regarding the July 4 missile launches by North Korea.

"It shouldn't have been a shock as North Korea has been trying to get our attention and the world's attention, and saber rattling is one way to do that. Because the long range missile was a complete failure, North Korea may not be an imminent danger to the United States. However, the launch of these missiles will certainly refocus the group of six and the United Nations to stop dodging the issue and confront the North Korean threat. I hope the fact that a new process is being put in place to deal with North Korea and, in particular its leader, is a good omen for a successful outcome for regional and U.S. security."
