Statement of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl on the Levin-Reed Resolution on Iraq
This resolution makes clear to the Iraqi government and its people that we are not going to be there indefinitely and that they need to take charge of their country. It encourages the administration to begin the plan for redeployment so that we do not have an open-ended commitment, and it allows flexibility about when and how many troops are redeployed. This resolution will meet the realities of the situation on the ground in Iraq.
