Fitzpatrick and Schwartz Secure Route 309 Project in Transportation Bill

Congressman Michael G. Fitzpatrick is pleased to announce that he secured $2,000,000 in the FY07 Transportation, Treasury and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act for an important highway improvement project that will benefit a section of Route 309 that runs through both Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

"Route 309 is a heavily traveled roadway that is susceptible to congestion, accidents and confusion for visitors to our area," Fitzpatrick said. "This project will apply current communication technology to alleviate many of these concerns through electronic signage, traffic cameras and other advancements that will improve safety and enhance productivity on our roadways."

The project, which will be funded through the Federal Highway Administration, will consist of the construction of integrated closed circuit cameras, variable electronic message signs, and necessary communications systems.

"I am pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Congresswoman Schwartz to secure this project which will benefit both of our congressional districts," Fitzpatrick added.
