Dr. Coburn Comments on Death of Terrorist Leader

U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) today released the following statement on the death of terrorist Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.

"The brave men and women of America's Armed Forces are to be commended for their successful efforts to defeat this terrorist who sought to undermine Iraq's transition to democracy," Dr. Coburn said. "We cannot forget terrorists like Al-Zarqawi seek to destroy our way of life and want to impose their radical ideology on the world. We cannot back down from this threat in Iraq or elsewhere in the world if we are to win the global war on terrorism.

"Though difficult work lays ahead in Iraq, today's news gives us confidence a free and stable Iraq will be realized," Dr. Coburn said.
