HOLT HOSTS NEW JERSEY VETERANS TO DISCUSS HEALTH CARE, SOLDIER REHABILITATION, LEGACY

MEETING COMES AS PRESIDENT BUSH PROPOSES TO CUT $10 BILLION FROM VETERANS CARE OVER 5 YEARS

(Washington, DC.) - Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) today hosted a "D.C. Day" for veterans from Central New Jersey . The event comes as President Bush's proposed budget cuts $10 billion from veterans funding over the next five years.

"I'm delighted so many of New Jersey 's veterans are here today in Washington, and I'm honored to be their host," said Holt. "I share their view that the President's budget proposal falls far short of what is needed to meet their needs and those of the veterans coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan."
