Frelinghuysen and top Sussex County Officials Announce $400,000 to Strengthen Police Communications Interoperability

Newton, NJ - With $400,000 in federal funding secured by Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11), Sussex County Sheriff Robert Untig, members of the Freeholder board, the County Office of Emergency Management, and the Congressman today announced plans to strengthen police communications interoperability within the county.

"In the event of a natural disaster, widespread criminal activity, or a terrorist threat, Sussex County s law enforcement officials and first responders must be able to better communicate with one another and quickly access computerized records," said Frelinghuysen, New Jersey s senior member of the House Appropriations Committee. "This funding will allow the county to purchase 21st century technology that will enhance their communications interoperability and access to critical information, especially in times of crisis."
