CHAMBLISS COMMENTS ON KIA COMING TO GEORGIA
WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., issued the following statement regarding Kia Motors Corp. plans to build its first U.S. auto assembly plant in Georgia.
"This is certainly a great day for the State of Georgia. The Governor and our state agencies have worked in partnership with the local officials in Troup County to ensure that Georgia's proposal to Kia was competitive with other states and was economic prudent for our state.
"Locating the Kia facility will create jobs and improve the quality of life for all Georgians. We know this is a great place to live and work, and it is comforting to know that a company the caliber of Kia agrees and is making such a large investment in our state.
"I want to commend everyone who has been a part of this effort for their hard work and dedication. Today is a day to celebrate this historic announcement, and I pledge my support as we move forward toward full production."
