Cornyn Statement On Wildfire Disaster Declaration

WASHINGTON--U.S. Sen. John Cornyn made the following statement Wednesday regarding the President's disaster declaration for Texas:

"The President's action is welcome news, and will bring much-needed relief to the most affected counties in our state. I'll work with FEMA and other federal officials to make sure that we continue to overcome bureaucratic roadblocks and ensure that assistance is provided in a timely manner. In addition, I'm encouraged that the President appointed a Federal Coordinating Officer to help prevent unnecessary delay in the relief efforts."
