Cong. Ros-Lehtinen Very Pleased With Federal Funds Obtained For The Allapattah Community Center
Miami, Florida --- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is very pleased with the federal funds obtained for the Allapattah Community Center, which will be used to construct 80 housing units for low income elderly individuals. The funding consists of $8.942 million for construction and $1.174 million for a five year rental subsidy.
The Allapattah Community Center, known as the as Allapattah Community Action Inc. (ACA), has been serving the South Florida elderly community for over 25 years. From serving 320 individuals in 1978 to 6,000 in 2005, the ACA has been serving the ever growing elderly community for quite some time now and it is known for its service and professionalism.
Said Ros-Lehtinen, "The Allapattah Community Center has been a staple in our elderly low income community for a quarter century. These federal funds will ensure that they continue to play a constructive and important role in the lives of our elderly community. I am very pleased with this federal funding and I will continue to work towards the betterment of all the people I represent in Congress."
