Dreier Applauds Even More Economic Good News
Says Job Numbers and GDP Growth Are Truly Remarkable
December 2, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, hailed today's announcement of stronger than expected job growth, with 215,000 jobs added in November, as yet another indicator of the effectiveness of Republican economic policies.
"Just two days after the dramatic upward revision of the third quarter GDP growth number, we learn that the economy added 215,000 jobs in November. That's nearly 2 million jobs created this year. If there was any doubt our policies are growing this economy, they can now be erased. Following a crippling hurricane season and high gas prices, this level of growth is truly remarkable. It's clear we need to keep our policies of reducing federal spending, growth oriented tax relief, and energy independence in place to keep it going.
"We've had Democratic support for these priorities in the past. Recently, we've had none. I encourage responsible Democrats to start voting again for policies that work. I would hope that they would put politics aside and recognize that economic growth like we're seeing is good for the American people."
