Washington, D.C. - Congressman Lee Terry (NE-02) today released the following statement regarding the resignation of Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA):

"Former Representative Cunningham's appalling behavior is unacceptable. Anyone who chooses to abuse the power entrusted to them by the people they represent should be barred from any benefits derived from being a member of the United States Congress. Faith in our government is fundamental to a democratic system and anyone who violates the trust of voters hurts both Congress and democray."
