The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty regarding the retirement of Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Kathleen Blatz:

"Justice Blatz has been an outstanding leader and public servant for Minnesota.
She has been a strong advocate for improvement and accountability in our judicial system. She also has a great sense of compassion for people and a strong commitment to fairness. Justice Blatz personifies the Minnesota spirit. She will be dearly missed."
