Dingell Pleased With Funding for 15th District Projects in Transportation Bill
District Receives at Least $23.14 million for Road Improvements
Washington, DC - Washington, DC - Congressman John D. Dingell (MI-15) made these comments after the House of Representatives approved HR 3, the Transportation Equity Act Conference Report:
"The State of Michigan will be better off because of this transportation bill. The Michigan delegation, on a bipartisan basis, fought to make sure the citizens of the State got their fair share of transportation dollars from Washington - and we're now heading down the right road. As for the 15th district, a number of worthy projects were funded in this bill that will directly benefit my constituents.
"I'm also pleased I was able to help Governor Granholm in her effort to allow the State to more flexibly use federal transportation dollars to attack congestion in order to improve air quality.
"I could not have done this without the invaluable help of Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow. Chairman Young and Ranking Member Oberstar have been extremely helpful and I appreciate their hard work."
