Today, the Senate voted to confirm former Texas Governor Rick Perry to head the United States Department of Energy. Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) released the following statement:

"As Energy Secretary, Rick Perry will be responsible for maintaining the security and reliability of our nation's energy resources. I'm glad he has chosen to serve our nation and I look forward to working with him."
