House Small Business Committee Chairman Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) made the following statement about President Trump's executive action on regulations.

"President Trump's executive action on regulations is the right approach and represents a welcome change from the regulatory rampage of the previous administration," Chairman Chabot said. "For too long, America's 28 million small businesses have been suffering under the weight of overregulation and today's action will begin to provide them with some much-needed relief. By addressing the burdens small businesses already face and charting a course for cutting down on future red tape, this action helps our small businesses return their focus to creating American jobs for American workers."

Chairman Chabot introduced and led the way for House passage of the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act as part of H.R. 5, the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017. Chabot also spoke about the need for regulatory relief for small businesses at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) earlier this month.
