Booker Statement on Trumpcare Failure

Statement

Date: March 24, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement in response to the failure of the Trumpcare bill today:

"The failure of Trumpcare is a victory for millions of everyday Americans who didn't want to see their healthcare costs rise, their coverage worsen, and millions more people uninsured, all to give the wealthiest individuals and corporations a massive tax cut. Today's outcome is a testament to countless Americans who made their voices heard in this process, and who took the time to write, email, call, and attend events to let their elected officials know about their opposition to this dangerous plan.

The Affordable Care Act has helped countless families with their healthcare costs, expanded access to affordable and comprehensive coverage, and reduced the number of uninsured Americans to a historic low. There is still work to do to ensure that all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care, but the way forward is most certainly not Trumpcare -- the way forward is to work together to strengthen the ACA."
