Wicker Statement on Mike Pompeo's Confirmation as CIA Director

U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today issued the following statement after the Senate approved Congressman Mike Pompeo to be the new CIA Director by a vote of 66-32:

"The challenges we face around the world demand a ready and capable national security team. Mike Pompeo will be a well-qualified member of that team for President Trump, and I am glad the Senate has acted to confirm his nomination. These votes on nominees should continue, just as they did in the early days of the Obama Administration. The sooner the Senate starts voting on the President's Cabinet nominees, the sooner the Trump Administration can get to work on priorities that matter most to the American people."
