U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement on House passage of H.R. 6297, the Iran Sanctions Extension Act:

"Iran is the leading state-sponsor of terrorism and proves time and time again why they are no ally to the United States," said Marchant. "A regime that finances terrorism, test-fires ballistic missiles, and violates nuclear agreements deserves the strictest sanctions we can levy. My vote today will maintain our ability to immediately reinstate sanctions against Iran over the next decade. The administration must join Congress and change course to stop appeasing our enemies."
