Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (D-NC) released the following statement on the passage of a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through December 9, 2016.

"Today I voted for a short-term continuing resolution that funds our nation's government until December 9th. Although I'm disappointed there is no long-term budget, there was too much at stake to not support this bipartisan measure.

This CR provides ciritical funding to combat Zika, fully funds the Department of Veterans Affairs for the next fiscal year, addresses the opioid epidemic, allocates emergency funding for flood relief in Louisiana and averted a government shut down.

It is my hope that Congress will come together in December to find a long term funding solution."
