Hagedorn Calls For A Refugee Resettlement Time-out And Refugee Safe Zones To Protect America

Republican congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn says Saturday's attack at a St. Cloud shopping mall by a purported ISIS foot soldier validates his long-standing policy of retooling immigration laws and implementing a refugee resettlement program time-out.

"We are at war with Islamic supremacists who adhere to the ideology of radical Islam," said Hagedorn. "Minnesota has a terrorist recruiting problem from existing East African refugees who were brought to the United States under the current immigration and vetting process," he said.

"Last September -- before Paris, San Bernardino and even Donald Trump -- I called for a pause on refugee migration to give our government the chance to figure out what is going on and quit adding to the problem," Hagedorn said. [See attached Star-Tribune commentary.]

Hagedorn slammed his opponent, 10-year incumbent Tim Walz, as a politically correct liberal who voted for the immigration policies that greatly contributed to Minnesota's Islamic terrorism problem and as a "see nothing, do nothing' congressman who has failed to address brewing assimilation problems in Minnesota's First District.

"Tim Walz supports President Obama's reckless policy of open borders and the massive transfer of refugees and migrants from nations that hate America," Hagedorn said. "Tim Walz has failed to address the developing assimilation problems in cities like Faribault, Rochester, Owatonna and Mankato. And, Tim Walz calls constituents "unMinnesotan' and "Islamophobic' for identifying the problem of radical Islam and wanting a pause on refugee migration," he said.

"Unlike Walz, I'm not afraid to travel the First District, look people in the eye and offer my heartfelt positions and solutions. In fact, just this past week, Fox News contributor Pete Hegseth and I engaged the media in Rice and Olmsted counties and honestly addressed the issues of refugee migration, Islamic terrorism and Middle East foreign policy."

In addition to a refugee resettlement time-out, Hagedorn said he supports the establishment of safe zones near war torn areas in order to repatriate refugees in home nations and alleviate cultural conflict and assimilation issues in the United States and Minnesota
