Issue Position

The agriculture industry remains a primary economic and employment engine in New York State. During his first term in Albany, Mike led the fight to defeat over $200 million in new mandates on family farms. Most recently, the state budget included legislation Mike sponsored to support young farmers and enacted reforms so that family farms remain viable for generations to come. Most notable Mike was strong advocate of raising the estate tax threshold, making it easier for farmers to preserve their family farms.
