Location: Cheyenne, WY

Governor Matt Mead will announce details about initiatives to further the shooting sports in Wyoming on Monday, August 22. These include support from Wyoming's firearms industry, ideas for public access to safe shooting ranges and encouraging participation in shooting sports.

"Wyoming is home to spectacular outdoor experiences from hunting to hiking and from shooting sports to nature watching. We continue to look for ways to promote the outdoors. Shooting sports presents many ways to do just that," said Governor Mead.

The news conference will take place at 10:00 am at the Otto Road Shooting Range outside of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Governor Mead will be joined by representatives of Wyoming companies in the firearms industry and others, including the National Rifle Association and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
Plans support local efforts to create safe and accessible shooting ranges, encourage public participation in the shooting sports, knowledgeable and safe gun use, and to promote Wyoming firearms companies.
