Responding to the President's DAV Remarks

Statement

Congressman Lamborn released the following statement in response to President Obama's remarks earlier this week at the 2016 Disabled American Veterans National Convention:

"There is a sacred contract between veterans and their caregivers. Sadly, this serious trust has been broken by the lack of leadership and accountability in the VA. Instead of recognizing the culture of corruption in the VA and working to enforce the solutions-oriented laws that have been passed by Congress, President Obama wants to shift all of the blame to Congress. During my time in the House, we have met every single funding request from the VA. Despite these budget increases, VA officials continue to ignore whistleblowers and put themselves first at the expense of our veterans, this is a direct consequence of a lack of presidential executive leadership. Real progress in the Veterans Administration requires actual reform to the structure of the VA so that our veterans will receive the healthcare they were promised and that they have earned."
