Catherine Cortez Masto Joins Northern Nevada Small Business Owners for Launch of Campaign's Small Business Advisory Council

Press Release

Today, former Nevada Attorney General and U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto joined Northern Nevada small business owners for a roundtable discussion on the issues facing the small business community in Northern Nevada. At Rounds Bakery in Reno, Cortez Masto and small business owners talked about her plans to help Nevada's small businesses grow and create more jobs here in Nevada.

"We need to help Nevada's small businesses, not big corporations that don't need the help," said Cortez Masto. "As Nevada's next Senator, I will ensure that we are doing everything possible to support Nevada's existing and future small businesses. This means increasing access to capital and workforce training, as well as ensuring big corporations are paying their fair share. But while I'm focused on helping Nevada's small businesses grow and create jobs, Congressman Heck is voting in Washington to give tax breaks to corporations that ship American jobs overseas."

"I am proud to be a part of Catherine's campaign and be a voice for Northern Nevada small business owners," said Sean Cary, co-owner of Rounds Bakery. "Catherine is taking the time to understand the community's needs and concerns, and I know that she will work in the Senate to ensure we continue to grow create jobs."

"Catherine knows the importance of small businesses to Nevada's economy and I look forward to working with her as our next Senator," said Lynne Gray, co-owner of Precision Display Technologies. "Catherine will fight to ensure that Nevada's small businesses have the assistance that we need. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Congressman Heck, who is more focused on helping big corporations that don't need the help. Nevadans have a clear choice for Senate: Catherine will fight for every Nevadan; Congressman Heck will fight for those at the top."

"Catherine took the time to hear our concerns and I know she will continue to do so as our next Senator," said Verita Protho-Black, owner of Veritas Boutique. "She recognizes and understands the tools we need to succeed and will fight hard to ensure that we get them. Unlike Congressman Heck, Catherine knows that small businesses fuel our economy and are necessary to create good paying jobs that can't be shipped overseas."
