Issue Position

I believe in a capitalistic nation that supports free markets and free enterprise. Excessive regulation and taxation suppresses the private sector's ability to create wealth. Our economy works best when our citizens are allowed to keep the fruits of their own labor. Lower taxes frees businesses to invest and create jobs. Government doesn't create wealth. It may create jobs but at the taxpayer's expense.

I am pledging to you that I will oppose any and all efforts to increase taxes, or any budget -- regardless of party -- that increases the scope and size of government. I will work with other real conservatives to begin the process of making our government more efficient and accountable and to re-establish the checks and balances that originally assigned to our three branches of government -- executive, judicial, and legislative.

We must stop handicapping American companies through one-sided international trade agreements that picks winners and losers.
