Governor Signs Bills Aimed at Cutting Pollution, Reducing Medical Errors, And Supporting Newsline for the Blind

At ceremonies yesterday, Gov. John Lynch signed legislation aimed at cutting pollution, reducing medical errors, and supporting "Newline for the Blind."

"New Hampshire's clean air, clean water is critical to the health of our citizens, to our quality of life and our economy,"Gov. Lynch said as he signed House Bill 315. "This legislation will ensure that we are using the best available technology to reduce pollution."

HB315 requires any plants that burn construction and demolition debris to use the best technology available to reduce emissions. Gov. Lynch will sign legislation at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow that places a one-year moratorium on the permitting of any plant to burn construction and demolition debris, in order to give the state to develop appropriate regulations.

The legislation was sponsored by Rep. Roy Maxfield, Rep. John Thomas, and Sen. Robert Flanders.

Gov. John Lynch signed into law legislation, HB 478, to provide New Hampshire citizens with visual impairments access to major newspaper stories.
