U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today on Senate Democrats once again blocking consideration of critical legislation that would fund the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and appropriate emergency funding to combat Zika:

"For the second time, Senate Democrats have chosen partisan politics over funding veterans' health care and combatting the deadly Zika virus. This shameful action represents nothing more than an election year stunt, and confirms everything the American people hate about Washington. Our citizens are demanding their elected representatives do the hard work to solve the problems plaguing our nation -- not whenever it seems politically convenient."
