Issue Position

Brett supports the second amendment and firmly believes that law-abiding citizens that do not have a history of mental illness should be able to exercise their second amendment rights. However, gun violence in America is out of hand and completely unacceptable. The status quo is obviously not working. We must take action to stop guns from falling into the hands of violent criminals, terrorists, or the mentally ill. We have to work to strengthen background checks and focus more attention on gun shows and Internet sales.
