Issue Position: Creating Good Jobs in Arizona

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

As the only Democrat in Arizona endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Kyrsten is a strong supporter of pro-business policies that help Arizona families. Sinema works directly with Arizona businesses in order to listen to their concerns and help solve problems. She has pushed a bill to give tax breaks to companies that create high-tech, high-wage jobs. She is a strong supporter of our schools, community colleges and universities, so that Arizona will have the highly educated workforce we need to move our economy forward.

Kyrsten meets with large and small business owners and employees in the community through her "Kyrsten Means Business" program. Since 2013 she has visited over 25 businesses in District 9 to hear directly from employees and owners about the challenges and opportunities they face in this economy.

Kyrsten also introduced the SEAM (Security in Energy and Manufacturing) Act in June of 2013. This bill will extend the Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit program. This program provides a 30% tax grant, or grant in lieu of tax liability, to companies constructing, expanding or retro-fitting their facilities that manufacture renewable energy.
