Issue Position

Agriculture is and must remain the backbone of our culture and economy. Modern farming practices must be embraced and expanded on to insure that our economy remains strong and resistant to the violent highs and lows experienced throughout the rest of the country and world. Government must provide the framework and infrastructure to support this type of farming.

Value-added agriculture must become more than just a buzz word. It needs to become a way of life in South Dakota. Only when we squeeze, crush, feed and prepare every dime we can out of our livestock and produce we grow and raise in SD will our economy recognize our full potential.
