UCF Named National Cyber Defense Leader

Congressman John L. Mica (FL-7) anounced that the University of Central Florida (UCF) has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense for 2016 by the National Security Agency (NSA).

"This designation by the NSA will place the University of Central Florida at the forefront of our critical mission to tackle national cybersecurity challenges," Mica said. "America's national defense, our economy and the cyber world all of us live in will benefit by UCF's leadership in this vital work. Not only will UCF continue to lead in the battle for cybersecurity, it will train future leaders in this fight through programs and eligibility made possible by this important designation."
The CAE Program will give UCF access to additional funding from the National Science Foundation through scholarships and grants aimed at increasing the number of expert cybersecurity professionals. This is just the latest achievement of UCF's cybersecurity program which in recent years has won a number of national competitions and awards.
