Paul Ryan pulled a Tip O'Neill this week, Save Jerseyans, and I mean that as a compliment. It takes cajones to eat with a president, excuse yourself, ride a few blocks downs the street and vote to override his veto of legislation to gut Obamacare. Basic civility and dogged toughness aren't mutually exclusive concepts.

Unsurprisingly, one of those federal legislators voting to override -- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) -- also backed Tuesday's vote on the Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act, legislation which would increase Congressional oversight over sanctions and specifically bar the Obama Administration from lifting sanctions pertaining to Iran's missile testing and related provocations.

"This week Iran is pinning medals on the captors of our U.S. Navy sailors, declaring an "offensive' in response to sanctions and preparing another missile test. After the Obama Administration handed Iran billions of dollars in sanctions relief we must take action to demonstrate that we will not tolerate Iranian actions to destabilize the world and taunt the United States," said Lance in a statement.

And it's worse than that since our weakness has encouraged allies to do business with the enemy.

The measure passed 246-181, almost entirely along party lines, proving yet again that the Democrat Party couldn't give a fig for American security when it gets in the way of their ideology.
