As your first term District 20 State Representative Jim has continued his policy of not accepting lobbyist or PAC (political action committee) money, free gifts or free meals. He does this because it is the right thing to do.

Jim fought successfully for over 20 years in the courtroom for state and local open government. He received the NM Foundation for Open Government's (NMFOG) Lifetime Achievement award for his work on behalf of the public.

Jim's bipartisan resolution to establish a transparent and independent Ethics Commission passed the House, but died in the Senate. He will continue the fight to establish this much-needed commission.
