Issue Position: Economic Development

Issue Position

Take a drive anywhere throughout our district and you will notice a common theme emerging wherever you travel: communities are on the rise and making strides toward a new and greater future.

Businesses in Allentown along Warrington Ave, development along the Federal Street corridor on the North Side new homes springing up in the Hill District, and breaking in the the Hazelwood Community -- all signal what lay on the horizon in District 19.

This is a special time in the City of Pittsburgh, where we are witnessing the wishes, desires and development plans that have long lives in the hearts of the citizens in our communities. As these developments begin to take hold -- it spurs growth in other areas of the community. We are eager and excited to be involved in these projects as they come to fruition.

In the Greater Hazelwood Community, in particular, our office has been deeply involved in working with residents on new developments and economic activity. We are working with the Greater Hazelwood Community Collaborative and the Community Planning Committee. We are involved with Center of Life and the Hazelwood Initiative, and the acquisition and development of Gladstone. We are assisting with the Glen Hazel Community Resident Management Corporation and their resident-led development of a new senior homes and wellness center.

Through Jake's leadership in working with residents across the district, progress happens.

Jake is deeply committed to working with all residents and groups to bring meaningful and long-lasting economic development to our communities in the 19th District. This campaign is about people, and we want your help.
