President Obama's U.N. Global Climate Deal Degrades New Mexico's Middle Class and Destroys Jobs

Statement

Date: Dec. 12, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce issued this statement following the release of the so-called global climate agreement in Paris:

"The President has decided to put green energy projects overseas ahead of American families and our own economy, stated Pearce. I will do everything I can to ensure that this funding is blocked to protect the people of New Mexico."

"The Paris U.N. climate agreement is a clear attempt by foreign governments and international climate activists, to disenfranchise American taxpayers. New Mexicans will pay for this deal through increased taxes and higher electricity rates. American families will be forced to pay for green energy projects overseas while thousands of jobs will be lost domestically. Seniors, low income families, and others on fixed incomes will undergo unnecessary hardship. There is also no guarantee that the money that this Administration has pledged to the U.N. will actually go to designated projects.
